London is calling!

London is always a great idea, especially in summer! ☼
We had 3 days to explore this beautiful city. We stayed at the Smart Russel Square Hostel, which is in a nice area and close to the subway Russel Square station. If you are traveling on a low budget, this is the hostel we would recommend for you. The hostel itself is cheap but doesn’t actually feel cheap. It is located in a central location in London. Restaurants, shopping, and a lovely park are all within walking distance. We bought an Oyster card (£5 deposit) to use public transportation, which is really easy to navigate in London. We topped up the Oyster card with cash at a ticket machine from time to time. We preferred taking the bus as much as possible. This way, we were able to see more of the city. And the double-decker buses are just as amazing as we thought they would be!

On the first day we visited: Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Big Ben, Palace of Westminster, and Trafalgar Square. And of course, we went shopping in the famous Oxford Street.

London has also many great vegan restaurants. For brunch, we can recommend Wulf&Lamb which is 100% vegan. The porridge and pancakes were delicious. And for dinner, we took a bus to a restaurant in Notting Hill, called Redemption Bar. You can find the second Redemption Bar in Shoreditch.

On the second day, we stopped at the King’s Cross station at the famous 9 3/4 platform. It was such a beautiful and sunny day. In the morning, we went to see the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. In the afternoon, we took the bus to Canary Wharf which is a modern business area in London. The roof garden is wonderful there.

Saint Aymes is a beautiful small café where they have vegan options. One of our favorites was the yogurt with berries and granola. It was so good! For dinner, we went to Sushi Samba. If you want to go to that restaurant you should definitely make a reservation. Sushi Samba is popular because it is on the 38th floor and the highest outdoor dining terrace in Europe. The atmosphere is wonderful.

On our last day, we stopped at 26 grains for a delicious porridge breakfast bowl and a Matcha Latte, which was amazing by the way! In the afternoon we went to Piccadilly Circus and to Covent Garden which is a really nice area.  Here, we found the restaurant “by Chloe” which is 100% plant-based. The food is really good, you should check it out when you are in London!

Remember to return your Oyster card at a ticket machine at the end of your trip! The machine will cancel the Oyster card and refund your deposit plus any cash left on your Oyster card up to £10.

Safe travels!
